Just wondering about painting a eBay intake.

I'm considering buying one of the many cheapo intakes off of eBay. I was just wondering if anyone has painted them, or would know if there is anyway of painting them. That grey that they come in is ugly, and I'm not much for polished alum under the hood. I know powdercoating would work, but that would cost more than the intake. Just curious. I think a yellow intake would look nice under the hood of my blue MP3.

sure you could paint one.....just get some sand paper and lightly scuff the outside....shoot a coat of primer on it ....then paint with the color of choice from a spray can......you won't need any special paint.....just something you like.

you could also try engine paint you would have to sand the intake down to help the paint stick but its good up to like 1000 degrees or something .

Anyway to "paint" it to look like chrome? Such that it will look nice?
