I'm new to the board but not to the game. I've been modding my own and friend's cars for about seven years and have been autocrossing for about five (damn, I feel kinda old, where's my walker anyway). A bunch of my friends are car nuts (a couple of them own a shop called Motorsport Dynamix for those of you in the Sacramento area) so I've worked on just about everything under the sun (custom turbo kits, installed body kits, built-up N/A motors etc etc). I've been waiting for a couple of years to get a new car but nothing on the market was the right balance of handeling, power, and economy. Then I found out about the MSP. I had a Black mica 2003 MSP reserved for me at a dealer in LA (family friend) but then I learned about the 2003.5 models and fell head over heals for the Titanium. So here I sit, patiently waiting, and thats my story. Anyway, I'm glad I stumbled onto this board. Now if only I had the car to go with it.

welcome to the board...sir nuke should be around shortly to give u the official welcome...but anywayz, do u plan on modding your msp...and if so what did u have in mind?

HELLO Option and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. (stash)

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! (stash)

OMG you have ONLY been doing this for 7 years and you think it makes you feel old? GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ.......I have been doing this for 30 years!!!!! you would probably have me in my grave! lol actually.....doing this keeps you young.....that is if you stay on top of it that is. (stash)

My planned mods? My opinion on mods has three parts:
1) Do it right the first time. I have seen lots of guys run out a buy the newest (untested) or cheapest stuff for their cars and end up replacing the mods with the higher quality stuff down the road anyways.
2) Have a plan/goal for the car. I know a lot of people want to make the most power possible but understand what you have to work with. The msp has no internal engine or transmission upgrades over the N/A protg so don't expect to compete w/ a WRX. If you want to make 300+ hp buy a WRX.
3) Mod the stuff that needs it to be upgraded to make a better balanced car. How many people are going to take their brand new SRT-4's out and try to get more power first? Don't get me wrong, I like power as much as the next guy but that car has other attributes that need attention more than the already ridiculous power output

That being said, I plan on a new seat first off. I may get that before I even have the car. I'll probably buy a new set of rims/tires for auto-crossing next. I'd like to get a titanium exhaust from JIC but I that's major dough. I don't plan on replacing the turbo since it's sized to prevent lag (important to me for autoXing) and my goal of 200 hp (to the wheels) is possible with only bolt-on's. After that, I'm not sure.

Good Points Option...Welcome to the site!

Enjoy ;)

p.s. keep us updated on the JIC titanium system
