my p5 is now clad in tein stechs. Installed them at the base auto shop. took about 6 hours, which was alot longer than expected. I still have to reassemble the trunk and double check some nuts. The shop was closing as I was trying to assemble the last shock, so it was a little rushed. The front shocks were fairly easy, but the rears really gave me hell, which was part of why it took so long. The big problem was I couldn't get the nut off the screw holding on the swaybar on the driver side. The whole screw turns when you try and loosen the bolt. I was able to get the fronts off by putting an allen wrench in the end of the bolt and loosening the nut, but neither of the rear driver side swaybar screws would loosen. Thankfully the passenger side nut came right off, so I just unbolted the clamps on the bottom and removed the entire swaybar with the shock. After that the rest wasn't too difficult. Took the car off the jack stands and the height diddn't look too different. Drove home and heard some clunking, thinking it was something in the trunk. Looked when I got home, found out that the nut on the top of the last strut was real loose. It did look like the springs had settled a bit though, be cause the drop looked great. I'll try and get the obligatory pictures taken tomorrow.

Tightened stuff up, rebuilt the trunk and drove around a bit. I noticed an occasional clunking noise in the rear. I suspect it is the swaybar linkage rod hitting the rear lower suspension arm. they seem to be pretty close when parked. Has anyone else encountered this?

Other people with lowering springs have had that clunk in the rear, but I have never heard it on my car with the S-techs...

Check to make sure you have the swaybar bolts all snugged down really well. I didn't have one of my front swaybar bolts tightened enough and it caused an anoying clunk in the front till I tightened it up.

BTW, my rear swaybar bolts were a b**** to loosen too :bs:

there is a possibility the bolts are loose, but I don't think I even managed to loosen them when I tried to get them off.
