Jet V-Force chip

Ok, has anyone heard of this? I found it off a protege site and thought it looked interesting. Just curious to see what exactly it is..

The "chip" you're reffering to is a drop in prom for the ECU it's an easy way to "reprogram" the fuel and igntion maps for the ECU. The manufacture of the chip is JET Performance who's been around since about 1993 I think (I might be wrong on that). They're basicly POS's just as everyone has said. It's not worth the time nor the money to get one. About the only place where I've seen em worth maybe a couple of bucks is in auto cars when the chip will change the shift points up the power curve a little. If you want to upgrade the ECU then either do the Apex-i AFC or a Link Sys. stand alone engine management system. Both are well worth the money, just depends on how many mods you're looking to put on the car.

Technically most of the chips are the same like, jet v-force, powerchip, and superchips. Before i got my Mp3 i was gonna get a powerchip from powerchip.com, cause i wanted more power and accelleration for my 94 Protegelx also was planning on Nos 2. But unfortunately i wanted the Mp3 so i just got that instead cause i've been waiting for the MP3. "Anyways the guy told me that it'll be around $450 for the chip and he said that i'll have to use 93 octane gas and it'll eat gas up alittle but power improves at Wot. The chip will only do so much like if my Topspeed is 140mph it'll take the car to 140mph alot faster with the chip, and acceleration will be alot faster. that's what people use on there honda that have governer's on them so i technically wouldn't call it a (POS). Well i could say the same thing for Turbo and Superchargers, they mess up the engine after so long the engine could handle. :) You have your opinion and i have mine. have a good day!!!!

I've had the V-Force on my 2000 Mitsu Eclipse. JET said that I would get 10-15 HP. I had it dyno'd and did not see any gains. What modules like v-force do is that they tricks the computer into thinking there is more air coming in than there actually is. You can simply step on the throttle a little more to accomplish the same thing.

With most modern cars when you go WOT, the ECU goes into the open mode where it goes to a default fuel map. So even if the V-Force is giving the ECU a false reading (higher count of air), the ECU will not take that into account when it's running in open loop mode.

I would stay away from JET.

I got a jet v-force chip, the tornado, and an electric supercharger. My 1/4 mile time went down 0.2 sec because my wallet was MUCH lighter.

Honestly though, I talked to Derrick at corksport about the jet v-force chip and he said that they do nothing. He sent them a chip to upgrade. In return, he received the SAME EXACT chip he sent with a JET Performance sticker on it.

The S-AFC may not be so great for our cars either. I understand that the stock comp takes over at WOT and the AFC won't read any airflow that registers over 5 volts (or something like that).

Check out UNICHIP, which is a piggyback system. They're about $500-$600, but you need to pay someone to tune it.

Somewhat true and Somewhat not, My bro mark that's in the navy drives to san diego everyweekend to see his wife all the way from Lemoore N.A.S, Anyways he owns a 2001 Ford Zx3 and he tops out at 106mph where the governer is at. He ordered a superchip from his buddy in san diego and only paid like $275. When he got his chip instaled he said he had more power at 3grand all the way to 6000rpms every gear and took it up to 120mph cause another ford focus was trying to play with him but left the focus behind and didn't even try to go any faster than 120mph. But from what i hear about all these performance chips everybody i know, like's them but hates to use high octane gas and it eats up like crazy if you step on it. I don't know about the jet-vforce chip that u have opus-x it must be something else then but i hear some good things about performance chips. See i hear it cause people have goverener on there civic or focus or accord but they acheive higher speeds with the chip. But i don't think your GT eclipse has a governer seeing that you have tooken it up to 140mph am i right, correct me if i'm wrong but, i like the powerchip from what i hear but i don't have one. take care:)
