Is there a howto for cleaning the MS CAI?

its a pretty strait forward mod! really easy! take off the stock air box and replace with the cai!

I've already got the cai on, I had the dealer put it on.

But it's time to clean it and i can't find the filter or figure out where to jack it up.

I completely agree, I'm a car noob and I don't know how to do anything. If I would have put it on I'd know how to clean it lol.

I had mazda gift certs so i went ahead and had them do it.

Easiest way to get to the filter is from the bottom. Buy some ramps (any auto store/wallmart etc), slide under and undo the splash shield. After you loosen the hose clamp, it should pop right off. I believe you can also access it by taking off the driver's side wheel and undoing the wheel liner but that might be more of a pain.

You should have gotten a cleaning kit (2 white bottles) with the CAI. If not, I believe the AEM dry flow cleaning kit could work (someone correct me on that).

^I'd do it every 10-12k. Some people say 20k but it's probably a good idea to examine it after around 10k or so to see how it's doing. When I removed mine, it was pretty dirty and I had it on for around 15k miles.
