Today at a local Shell station, I noticed a new ingredient, INVIGORATE in the Shell gas. I think its an ethanol tradename. Anyone know for sure? I need to go back an check my manual but I thought I remembered seeing that ANY Ethanol in our engines was a BAD thing? True or False?

It's just another way to say "NEW AND IMPROVED" so they can charge more per gallon.
It's similar to Chevron's Techron.

Nothing to do with ethanol, it's just more additives.

They all have something ... Shell is Invigorate, Chevron has Techron, Amoco has BP Ultimate - Just different trade names for the specific blend of additives they put into the fuel.

I guess Invigorate replaces the old V-Power

And, ALL gas contains Ethanol. I think the current concentration is around 2.5%, but the stickers on the pumps say "may contain UP TO 10% Ethanol". Thank Dubya. Lower concentrations of ethanol wont hurt our engines. Ethanol has lower heating value, but it has good knock-resistance characteristics.
