Ok, I know that there has been a billion posts on intakes, and I have read through most of them, BUT, I need to know what the difference is between a short ram intake and a cold air one... the price jump is incredible!

If I go with a short ram, would I be paying around $40?

THANKS GUYS!!! :D

It has been covered before. SRI is about $40 from e-bay. CAI has a diffren filter location, therefore takes in cooler air. Cooler air=bigger gain. Not really enough diffrence to worry about.

for our cars, I believe there are just very small HP differences between CAI and SRI.
you can do search on these intake differences.
anyway, just go to ebay if you SRI ,they have it for $30~$100 range of intakes +$10~$15 shipping charges.
or you can get AEM short ram intake for around $130 on internet

SRI = possibly 1-2hp
CAI = possibly 2-4hp

AEM SRI = ~130
Injen CAI = ~$200
ebay SRI = $35

What you will see with any of the intakes (and the only reason for getting one in our car) is throttle response and a little more tourqe in the higher bands. And there is also the nice growl after 3500 RPM's.

As you can see the ebay SRI is the way to go unless you want the look of a CAI.

Thanks guys... I'm gonna be checking around to see what I can get, cause I don't wanna spend too much money since I'm thinking of other mods too.

Another question... how about short shifters... who has the cheapest and best quality ones?

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

For short shifters there are B&M, TWM and Kartboy. All are good but Kartboy is a member and Authorized Vendor of this site so should be supported. Whichever you go for you must also get the Kartboy bushings, you will be thankful that you did.

Also kartboy is the lease inexpensive, I wouldn't use the word cheap with the Kartboy. It is very well made. :D

Yay, 1000th post. :D
