Intake silencer volume question

If i removed my intake resonator/silencer, Would the sound be as loud as an aftermarket intake or quieter? I am not looking for any performance gains, i just want a more agressive sound.

i found the stock intake with the resonator off was louder than having the AEM on-- i think it has something to do with that tiny chamber off to the side of the box.

sounded much better too.

What did you replace it with? a pipe and filter?

i have seen some people just pop the top of the air filter container and it made it louder

you know the container where the air filter sits they just pop the top of it yes it made it sound diffrent.

nothing. I was running the car completely stock for about a month last september ('06). Had I known the car sounded really nice with just the resonator gone, I would've held off a little longer instead of purchasing the AEM just before hitting 1K.
