I am getting ready to order new HID systems to freshen up my lighting on the 5. My current set is 3 years old now. I just feel that a new setup is warranted to get maximum performance. Plus I never used the H7 spacers in my current lights so I think my bulbs are not sitting properly in my lights. My question is will 55w melt my HIGH BEAM housing? I have 35w now, and one blub is gone, so I am going to get a full new kit. I am going to install a set of nokya Yellow halogen bulbs in my fogs I think, buecause I was unable to fit my 3000k HID in the housing.

I plan on taking my headlights completely out of the car, and cleaning out the projectors incase there is dirt inside from misaligned bulbs and then clean off the oxidiation off the lenses. I am also mounting the bosch lights in the bumper as well. More light the better.

Melting stuff-wise you wil be fine. Defineately get a good quality relay harness to power everything, low beams and high. I have begun to have issues with the factory uv coating breaking down on my headlight housings. I am strongly considering getting one of TRS' "retro quick" kits meant for the 3. That and a clear lense kit, which i would highly recommend due to your need for maximum light
