I-Stop 2024 CX-90 Turbo S PP Question

2024 Turbo S PP
This is my first vehicle with a I-stop feature and I recently purchased a 2024 CX90 Turbo S PP.

When I’m waiting at a traffic light (in Florida they are lengthy) the I-stop will activate for maybe 10-20 seconds and then deactivate while I’m still waiting for the signal to change. Shouldn’t this feature remain activated during the duration of the car being stopped? It is very annoying since you can feel the engine start when I-stop deactivates Instead of doing so when hitting the accelerator and everything is kicking in all at once.

I know for my naV(and prior expy), if ambient interior Temps goes up too high, the engine cuts on. Since your in FL, I would think the Temps with the ac off goes up pretty quick.

I’m going to try and create a habit when initially starting the car to turn it off. Thanks for the help.

Here is my experience that i want everyone to know and i hope this gets out to the mazda officials as this can be updated and changed. the i-stop will stop your wireless charger and re-activate when your engine re-engage and the only way to bypass this is to fully dis-activate the i-stop completely.

ok back to the subject, i-stop will activate base on your driving. if cruising at high speed on a flat or a slight decline will activate it and at low speed to a stop is dependent on the amount press on the brake pedal.

That is a silly bug from Mazda.

You should complain to MazdaUSA.
Telling it to dealers is useless for this matter.

It looks like it is tricking the istop button to always stay disengaged, not a bad work around.

Not sure if it will work your car but it did on my 2014 6 and 2020 cx5, but havnt tried on the wife's 2022 cx30. Fix was to jam a toothpick in the button and i-stop turns off when you start the car. You could test by holding the button in while you start the car.
