I knew I should of waited

Damit Got screwed again, I went through all the hassle of getting an s plan pin so i wouldnt have to haggle with the dealers, but I bought my MS3 2 weeks ago when they were still on s plan restriction anyways, and i just checked the website and they are off restriction. That piss me off to no end, Im calling Ford and my dealer tomorrow to say wtf, possibly a waste of time but we'll see what happens hopefully I can still use my pin.(rant)(pissed)https://portal.mazdausa.com/prod/em...n/help/splan_supplier/brochure/splan_info.htm

My dad got his MS3 when the restriction was on, but he bitched until they gave it to him. My grandfather worked at Ford for 30 years to have his son turned down for a discount, I don't think so.

Discount given to family members {and friends?} working for any of the ford line up (mazda, lincoln, mercury etc.)

That's the only reason we buy ford.

Thanks!

I wasn't aware that Mazda was "Ford". I new that they owned like 33%share or something but had no idea that Mazda is basically "Ford" with a Mazda badges.

I got S plan pricing for my '07 back in June, but what I heard was that it was up to the dealer whether they offered it for the Mazdaspeeds. It was a discount, but only about 1000.

May only be $1000 but with a car thats just over $20,000 thats a good bit of change. That money could be spent on mods or something else fun.

Thanks!

They are not Fords, but they do share a lot of techology.

For example, the 2.3 engine in the 3, 5, and 6, is exactly the same engine in the Escape (also a Tribute).

The 3.0 V6 in the 6 is Ford engineered, and the 6 is built in Michigan.

The 3.7 in the CX-9 is all Ford, but it is built in Hiroshima.

There's a lot of engineering sharing across all car lines these days.

all they need is sales manager approval to give you the S plan. i know, because i got my ms3 on the S plan last july...:D

Matrix's and Vibe's are built in the same co-op factory, yet matrix = toyota and vibe = pontiac. It's how the car industry works now adays. saves on R&D.

And even though dealers "loose" money w/ the splan w/ the discount, there has got to be some kind of kickback they get for a splan person buying a car from them.

the s plan has a payout for the dealer directly from ford, so they are guaranteed a given fee. s plan pricing is right at invoice (i think?), so they are always making money off the plan...just not an insane amount.

The 2.3 is/was also in the Focus ZTS and some of the ZX3's.

yeah it's invoice... but dealers still make money w/ all the small stuff like the $674 dealer fee they tried to give me. Ended up w/ a $200 one in the end... still redic. (bang)
