I did it, I did it, I did it!

Hi guys... I did it! I finally got my MP5! This is a big thing for me. First, I've been saving for over two years for a new car. I needed a large enough down payment so I could keep my monthly payments manageable. Second, I bought this car on my own. I researched for two years ---- and when the P5 came along I shifted my thinking to getting a P5 (I originally was looking at a Honda). You guys were the ones who really sealed the deal for me. Seeing how all of you are pretty happy with your cars made me realize that this was the car for me. And what did I get? I got a beautiful silver P5, 5spd, ABS, moonroof, polished wheels. I couldn't be happier (other than having car payments again.) :D

haha thats great!!!!!! congradulations! you will be very happy with your purchase! i guarentee it!, if you need anything else these boards are always open, most of the questions have already been answered so the seach function is at your disposal

Congrats on the new car! Great choice, these cars are alot of fun and you are standing out in the crowd by not jumping on the Honda bandwagon :)

Thanks. I know I'll love the car. I didn't get an extended warranty. I have 30 days to get one. I feel like I should but they are so darned expensive.

Congratulations Moon.....

and don't let them BS you....you have a LOT longer than 30 days to decide if you want an extended warrantee....in fact you have up till there is 30 days left on the FACTORY warrantee.....

Thanks Nuke. I'm going to call the dealer and ask about that. It would be great if I didn't have to shell out $1300 right now. Funny how dealers don't disclose everything.

"Disclosure" isn't exactly a common trait for dealers. :D

Thanks for bringing that up, Nuke. The extended warrantee is really a scam at purchase time. They are selling you a car with a 3 YR/50K warrantee. The extension is unnecessary until the end of that term. You can even buy a warrantee from other companies at a later date.

Keep in mind that the warrantee price goes up a bit the older the car gets (sorta like life insurance for old fogies, like myself), but not much.

Take the $1300 and invest it. Sell it off at the end of three years and see if you made out O.K. :D

Ask yourself if you really need the extended warranty though. This is a Mazda Protege, not a Ford Taurus :)

congrats man...welcome to the club...yet another new member...we've been growing like crazy lately...the only thing that i'd have to disagree with you on is being "pretty happy" with our car...i'm 100% absolutely completely happy with my car...and i'm sure you will be too...

Congrats on your superb choice of vehicles. Besides your monthly payment, you will soon need to find room in your budget for all the aftermarket goodies.

Why the hell did you that for? There a alot better cars for the money! I would've saved all that money and just get a buss pass.

Enjoy!

Ummm redwagon02....I think you meant "couldnt have" lol

A fine choice of car I really must say Moonpennies. (I guess my subliminal suggestion worked). I hope you really like your new car. I am sure you will. And remember if you love it - tell your friends. If you don't - tell us. We will fix it so you do!

I've been telling all my friends and family about how great this little car is. Matter of fact - do you guys and gals think Mazda owes me any royalties yet? I told my brother all about them and he bought one the same day I did. Then I told my friend Mike all about them and let him drive mine. He is on his second trip to the dealer today because they are supposed to have a blue one in that he wants.

Bob is another mutual friend of Mike and I who went with us on Mike's test drive in my car. I told him Mike is buying one and he was upset because he said HE wanted one. He doesn't think all three of us should have the same car. Any bets on whether I convince him to buy one too? Don't bet against me people. Hehe. One smiley face for every P5 I have gotten sold...

:) :) :) and counting...

When the extended warranty was offered to me I asked the dealer a simple question : is this a good car or not? The answer is now obvious to me, the extended warranty is useless, glad I didn't buy it. I had 2 Civics before this P5, man am I happy I switched.:D
