Hybrid System Malfunction - Dealer says car may be in shop for months

Two weeks ago I received the error message "Hybrid System malfunction. Have the vehicle inspected" on my CX-90 PHEV.

I took it to the Mazda dealer, where I bought the car in the Spring of 2023. After a week there, they told me that they needed to get a replacement hybrid battery from Mazda. They called me back today with the news from Mazda that the battery is backordered possibly until DECEMBER.

I do have a loaner CX-50, but the CX-90 had been set up with a luggage rack to haul kayaks and a trailer hitch for transporting bikes, activities we were doing several times a month. That's out now (my wife has a tiny convertible).

I love my soul red CX-90 PHEV, but after being in the shop ~6 times for various recalls and a previous systems malfunction, and now being set up for 5-6 more MONTHS in the shop, I'm thinking that I could make lemonade by squeezing it. I knew that buying a "first year model" carries some risks, but this is crazy.

I hope that not many of you are having similar issues.
