How's the Mazda 3 Sport's safety ratings?

I know you can't get the side curtains in Canada, which is a bummer. How does it fare though generally? Any links to articles or crash testing results? (drive)

Thanks! 4 stars is pretty good i guess for the frontal, but 3 out of 5 for side doesn't seem great... hmmm... i haven't checked out the 3's competitors, but the Jetta for example got 5 stars on frontal and 4 for side (although it had side airbags, so it's not apples to apples comparison with a 3 that doesn't have side airbags.

But overall, would you say the 3 is above average on safety? Yahoo autos gave a general rating of 4/4 to the 3, but 5/5 to the Jetta. I want to get it for my wife (and kids down the road), so i was thinking of safety too, since she's not as defensive a driver as i am.

actaully 3 out of 5 w/o side airbags is a really good rating.
