How to test MAF Sensor?

so lately my car's idle been very rough, almost wanna stall at light. How do i test if the MAF sensor is at fault? can i just unplug it, and drive to see if problem clears??
I have changed plugs, wires, coil packs. so now i think it's either EGR, Idle control valve or this MAF.also CEL code is P0300 random engine misfire.

You can unplug it and if the idle improves it should be replaced according to a Haynes OBDII manual I have.

I unplug it while idle today, and the idle does improve, but when i try to drive with it unplug, the car stalled. so does that means it's defective??

I think the first part may have shown that it is defective, but even a good MAF unplugged while you're driving will stall

replaced MAF too. idle's still rough. Also now when i try to restart the engine when warm, it cranks for like 10 seconds to get it to start. Couls it be my 02 sensors?? or EGR??

Ya I am having the same problem yesterday I installed a SRI so maybe when I put the MAF back on I didn't put it back on properly tomorrow when I have a looking at it is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

having the same problem.
changed plugs cables, coils and cleaned out the EGR valve...still rough idel with a flashing to non-flashing CEL
HELP

All ya' all (Southern Plural Possesive) need to check the plastic intake hoses for cracks/holes.

An don' noncha' unplug the MAF to troubleshoot - ya' hear?!

Ya I checked all my connections to make sure there was no gaps, now I guess ill look at all the connections to see if there is any cracks. Where can I get new connectors if they are cracked?
