NOTICE:
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ON YOUR VEHICLE BEFORE DECIDING WHETHER OR NOT YOUR VALVE COVER GASKET IS REUSABLE. OTHERWISE YOU WILL NEED TO GET ONE BEFORE STARTING.

how to tell if it's reusable w/o taking the valve cover off?

*For all you out there that want to paint your valve cover and are worried about peeling and what not i have the answer! This is a very good write up but it is missing one thing. What i did was tape off the parts i didnt want to get paint in then i painted w. up to 1500 degree heat paint (several coats), then clear coat (several coats) ****immediately after but in your over to bake at 475 degrees for about 30 min!**** after let it cool then put it on. this process leaves the valve cover looking professionally done!
