The previous owner of my mazdaspeed protege installed the MFactory 4.687 Final Drive Ring and Pinion gears. I know that because I used the mfactory transmission calculator along with my observations from driving the car and the values match up with stock transmission ratios mated to a 4.687 final drive. My question is how do i go back to stock? Do I need to just get my hands on a stock ring gear or do i need the pinion as well? Also i read that you can't separate the ring gear from the LSD and if that is true then i need a whole new LSD right? Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't bother with it. You have to pull the trans, seperate it and pull the Mfactory. Then you can remove the bolts and swap the ring gear. A stock ring gear must be drilled out from the diff doesn't matter if you use a MSP or regular protege diff which you can bolt to the Mfactory then you can sell the Mfactory final drive but it won't be worth a lot without a diff to go with it. Then when you are done the car won't be as quick. All in all, not worth it in any way.
