I was originally going to post a question on ' how to increase distance of our car remotes? "

But did some research, and found this funny/interesting approach. Also tested by BBS's Top Gear w positive outcomes!

Here it is:

Basically its said that by just USING YOUR HEAD, You can increase range to almost double by placeing key fob to your head and clicking it again!

THATS IT!

Heres some proof:

quote from site:

Remote Car Key

Suppose your remote car door opener does not have the range to reach your car across the parking lot. Hold the metal key part of your key fob against your chin, then push the unlock button. The trick turns your head into an antenna, says Tim Pozar, a Silicon Valley radio engineer.

Mr. Pozar explains, “You are capacitively coupling the fob to your head. With all the fluids in your head it ends up being a nice conductor. Not a great one, but it works.” Using your head can extend the key’s wireless range by a few car lengths.

Also 2 videos, a How To, and Top Gear's approach lol:

Vid 1 - Quick How To
[ Video wouldnt work here.. use link^]

Vid 2- Top Gear

SO I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME OPINIONS, AND IF ANYONE HAS HEARD OF THIS/ TRIED IT?
THANKS

i tired it today, doesn't really work that well IMO

anyways.. back to the original question

How can you boost signal for keyfob remote?

Ive held it against my wrist and had it work further away. Your body acts as an antenna basically. Only thing you can do with the keyfob is make sure the battery is good. Any autozone has a checker.

i replaced the battery..same sheet..

o well

and yes thats the basic concept..make yourself an extended conductor and act as an antenna for the receiver.
