I saw my friend's SCC a couple weeks ago & I noticed this article. To my amazement, it contains a lot of the principles that I strongly believe in. The guys at SCC took the idea to the extreme & therefore many of the points are more than what any of us would be willing to do. It's still a great article & I'd love to see people on here use it when modding their car.

#5 (black FMICs) is the one I recommend to people on here all the time & I've yet to see anyone take my advice. Take a look at my 2 of the WRXs my friends drive, it DOES look good. (2thumbs)

One of my friends has a ford festiva with a taurus SHO V6 mounted in the freakin trunk! The thing is disgusting!

...remember reading about this car in motor trend, maybe back in the early 90's....i believe it was called a "shogun"......220 bhp in a 2200 lb. car (10 lbs/hp).....sweet.

Of course they do...all kinds of people sell them. Spearco would be a good brand to search for. They have them on eBay all the time or you can find some online vendors who sell different sizes.

OHHHH, you mean does APS make universal cores. Unfortunately, I think they only make $$ stuff. That FMIC costs $1875.

I don't think its necessary to paint the fmic black. Nobody ever notices mine. I think i've had 2 people in the 5 months mine has been on say anything about it.

If you're street racing for $$, only an idiot wouldn't take a quick peak up front to see if you're sporting a FMIC. Painting it black could make the difference in coaxing some poor sap into racing your sleeper.

I've thought about doign #6 - changing the compressor and exhaust wheels. anyone have any idea how much this could possibly cost? And the benefits- could we do like the article says and get gains of that magnitude?
