I have a 2002 Protege ES and debating to buy the JIC Cat Back exhaust, AWR Headers and the Wagner Mid-Pipe with High Flow Cat. Do you think this set up will Drone or be Very intrusive/Annoying? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Mine drones because i dont have my resonator. Overall the sound is great, my exhaust noise got much deeper and more aggressive.....i love it. Ill be getting the Greddy Catback soon so it may quiet down the noise on the inside.

I may even put some dynamat under the carpet where the spare goes.

What kind of exhaust are you running presently?

I have a "Ractive muffler" with 2.25" catback piping done at a local muffler shop. I cant remember the muffler type...MT110 or something like that.

EDIT: its the MT614 muffler.

no, but my club and I get mad hook-ups from a guy who does. CEL the same day, I bought the MIL eliminator, just havent put it in yet :) Ya know its not a legal header?

Good Idea! i never thought of that; maybe the the stock one from the JIC cat back and add a 2.25 Magnaflow resonator. This should quite things down if it is Too LouD.

an exhaust is only as loud as you let it.

just get two resonators and it shouldnt be loud at all

i've just bought 2 x 2.5" red hots glass packs (made by holley).

the good thing about resonators like that is that they are a straight through design....no loss in power, but volume and the honda buzz is dramatically reduced.

Why not just get a high flow cat from Wagner?? The AWR header eliminates everything from the second cat (the one under the car) to the exhaust port on the motor. The JIC cat back hooks directly to the cat. I had the JIC and header on my P5 and it tended to drone at highway speeds, but was fine around town. Anything over an hour or and hour and a half drive on the highway, I would put the silencer in that came with the JIC.
