Hope this is what your talking about:
#1 Remove the Silver cover which has the cup holders in it (pop it
out at the cup holders themselves and lift the rear end out first
because it is somewhat hinged in the front)
#2 Remove the shift knob itself (It unscrews)
#3 I decided to remove the leather shift boot instead of fighting the
2 screw that are mounted at the back of the plastic trim for the
leather boot (them are bottom mount).
#4 There are 2 small holes in the shift itself. I drilled them out
to fit a strong screwdriver through (Snap On lifetime warranty, got
to love it)
#5 Wiggle the shifter until the rubber (glue, whatever you want to
call it) breaks loose. It sounds alot easier than it is (My shifter
must have been made in the middle of the week because it took alot of
work)
#6 Clean the excess rubber off of the shift.
#7 I went the extra distance and wanted to use the factory shift
knob. Went to Sears (Home Depot didn't have these tools)
1 12x1.7 Die Part #52887 cost 2.39 (For people who don't know a
die cuts threads in metal)
2 Die Stock Part #52565 cost 14.99
#8 Vaccuum out and put back together.
