Ive go the sputtering problem at WOT like everyone else with a modified ms3. mine is very random and i was wanting to make sure that i was experiencing fuel cut or what before i start buying parts to fix it. do you think using a a nice scan tool would show fuel cut like the snap on modis?? it shows real time data and also data logs. with that tool hooked up and running the cart at wot do you thin it would show the fuel injectors closing if it was indeed fuel cut im experiencing? any other ideas? thanks

I don't know about scan tools. But, if you're running a full turbo back or close to it with your DP and catless exhaust you're most likely getting it. I've got it too.

Easy way to find out.....Get on the freeway, stomp it in a third gear roll to fourth, when your car "turns off" and bucks you like no other, thats fuel cut.

you should be able to notice the cut with a data logging system, fuel will drop and ur a/f will most likely change

Ok i just data logged my car with the snap on modis and of course even after turning the boost back up to 18+psi the car would not sputter, hahaha that figures.... anyways even at 18+psi of boost at wot in 4th gear the car showed no signs of fuel pressure dropping and the AFR's were fine and alittle too rich near redline. SO why are people saying that upgradeding the fuel pump will solve this issue when its obviously an ecu tuning problem or somthing else???
i was hoping the car would sputer and i would see the injectors shut off or the fuel pressure change but nothing out of the ordinary happened??

I would say wait until you have a colder night to try to datalog it. It seems like its only happening mostly in colder temps like 40 and lower. Just a thought.

i have the same thing going on... it would be nice to know whatz up with the cars???? also it would be nice to know if there is anyone that is having this problem in stock form???

I thought that I had this issue in stock form on the way home from the dealership but now I am wondering if it was the traction control system putting on the brakes. I am still waiting on my snow tires so I haven't really drove much at all since driving her home but my tires should be comming in tomorrow so I will do much more testing when they arrive.

My car does it anywhere past 16psi. The only time I didnt get it was on the way to the dyno with the cdfp installed. My car is always pig rich on the afr gauge. So I dont know what to tell ya. The only thing I know is when lalooshes car was doing it he showed datalogs of timing being pulled and fuel pressure dropping. he has not had this problem ever since the cdfp. the only cut he has gotten is boost cut when he took the cpe off. Thats from not having a mapclamp or bcd.
