I was trying to find a good, trustworthy place in Houston to go....I used to use Competition Sales alot, but they don't really carry anything for imports, but they recommended a shop called ASAA Racing in the same part of town.....I went by and they seemed knowledgeable enough, just wondering if anybody has a good, reputable shop they know of.

they did have a ton of Honda stuff.....I thought Carboy had gone out of business, it used to be next to eximport cycles and Houston Custom Car Stereo on 59 and then it disappeared.....I have used them in the past on my trucks, so glad to see they are still around......the one I used to always hang out at was CXI Racing on Hwy 6, but they are out of business, thus the need for a new shop, and it's good that they have a dyno as well, I really want to strap my car on one and see what it's putting down.

I know its an old thread but i just thought i would post my impressions on Carboy. A couple of years ago i stopped by to see if there were any fmic and exhausts kits available. They had no idea which was understandable due to the fact they mainly deal with honda/acura. Also, the guy claimed that he had seen a stock msp dyno at 120whp... A year later my friend and i went back. He wanted to turbo his gsr and the employees at carboy kept claiming the greddy kit was the only way to go and they were extremely unhelpful. Today i dynoed my car at carboys becuase it was the closest dyno to me. The employees had nothing but negative comments about the msp. They insisted that it is nearly impossible to gain any hp and it should be left alone. They claimed that one of the original msp's from a dealership was put on their dyno and they were unable to tune it (which is believable bc they were probably using a greddy ems that doesnt work with the protege ecu). Also, they claimed that mazda still has about 1000 msp's in the warehouse becuase they cannot find anyone to buy them. As I was leaving the shop, i noticed an evo with its engine pulled. The engine and other parts were laying out getting soaked from the rain. I cant possibly understand why anyone would highly recommend carboys from my past 3 experiences.

When did all of this occur? When I went to them I had no complaints. Maybe they have new people there now. Here is a guy's 240 that carboy did a 2jz swap for, they also did all the work on his supra. I used to own an Accord V6 and they were more than willing and happy to work on it. The closest negative comment I got from them was "not bad" when the car dynoed 212fwhp on their dyno. Then again, this is more than a year ago. Jackie, the owner, was always helpful and welcoming. They might have new ppl there, but I have nothing but positive experiences with them.

I know as far as getting your car tuned Jason (aka Stoopid) at Stoopid Fast and Huy Tran from inline racing are 2 of the best tuners in Houston. They are honda guys but I know they'll be way more respectful than the way you were treated at Carboy. Although you will have a hard time getting dyno time with Jason for a while, they are pretty much booked solid and are about to move into a new shop.

true internet and learning how is your best friend. Only mazda place I now is for miatas and I am not sure if he is expanding
