The other day my car wouldnt start so we hooked the jumper cables up to it.. The cables on the good battery was hooked up backwards. Now my MSprotege wont start and nothing else will work besides the head lights. the battery is fully charged..when i turn the key on it there is no sounds at all.. what could my problem be?

melted wires everywhere, thats what happens when you hook cables up backwards. actually, im really suprised you didnt have an electrical fire.

MAKE SURE you check the main 100a fuse underhood as well. if its blown you wont get any power to the cabin at all, even if te battery is ok

There was a thread about this but I can't seem to find it right now. Someone mixed the negative and postive terminals on the battery and fried the 100A systems fuse and a relay. If all electrical wires are OK (meaning not fried) that might be the case with your car.
