Hole in leather (help!)

Eleni often drives my car as she's very responsible, but this morning she drove the MX-5 to work with a co-worker who had a cigarette which fell onto the seat, burning a hole into the leather. It's not too noticeable, but knowing that it's there bothers me. And besides, it's a new car. What can I/should I do? Eleni feels horrible about this; she even asked this girl NOT to light up, but evidently some people don't have any respect for others' things. No offense to anyone, but I can't stand smoking. As you might imagine, I'm feeling very  :( (sick) (pissed) (sad1)

OMG. I don't even let people freaking drink in my car, much less ponder smoking.

Try taking it to the dealer seeing that it's an MSM and all; else, there's tons of leather/upolstery places around.

shoot the co-worker, skin her, hang skin in sun for many hour after scraping off the fat, Dye to color of choice, cut to fit and sew in new section

the co-worker needs to pay for it in my opinion. bottom line there is no excuse for a total disregard and/or lack of respect for the personal property of others.

any decent upholstery shop might even be able to patch it.

Agreed; besides, you both are lawyers, I'm sure you can figure something out

Violence is NOT the answer. But I must hand it to you - very creative. What are you, an artist?

The co-worker offered to pay for the damage. Initially I didn't know what to do, but the more I thought about it (especially since she lit up after being asked not to), I gladly accepted her offer. We're leaving for NYC this afternoon, so I don't have time to look into shops that can repair the hole. Do me a favor and find me some places within 20 miles of zip code 60611. Unfortunately, I can't make this my priority until I return to Chicago early next week. It'll just have to wait (which is driving me insane). I'm not a very happy camper when something goes wrong with my car. (sad2)

I can order you up a new seat bottom cover, but the coworker will s*** once she sees the price.
