High pitch noise from the engine bay when engine off

Hey everyone

05' M6 wagon MTX with 78k miles on it. No mechanical issues what so ever, rides like a champ BUT just noticed this high pitch noise that will stay on whenever the engine is off but key in ON position. If I turn it off completely it will stay on for another 5s and will end with two quick..... clicks. Barely audible on the street but very pronounced in the garage with hood open.

here it is: my camera was sitting on the top of the engine cover:

first 2 very loud clicks at the end of that continous high pitch noise and that noise itself are both coming sowewhere from the center of the engine bay. I don't know if you can hear that but at the end there is another one not so loud definitely coming from the fuse box

any suggestions are highly appreciated

im surprised you never noticed that before.. they all make that noise!! untill shutdown.. youll find that if you have a dashhawk it will turn off at the exact same time.. i think its computer or something?? but i wondered til i got the DH then i reaslised its just the engine shutting down.. so no worries..

normal.
mines not quite as loud, but it does that too.
assuming the same as mark... electrical to the ecu?
some sort of failsafe shutdown to help prevent shorts and other issues mebe...

its all just speculation, mebe some1 knows exactly. but i wouldnt worry.

yeah this has been happening on a few of my mazdas.. the p5 makes a really wierd noise when you engage the auto shifter.. not even when shifting just in the driveway.?? so yeah this happens.. hey chris!! ( batou 079 )

thx guys...I was pretty sure i didn't hear that before...but maybe I am imagining something here. Then again I just recently and only occasionly park in the garage and that's the only place I would here it at. No way to spot it in the street with hood close.
Oh, also.... according to one member on another forum it's TB ... ?
