Hey, want to walk around Sebring with me?

WHAT ARE CARS
For those not in the know one of my side projects is giving people baller tickets to race events for a non-baller price so I have to invest my time making friends with race teams and tracks and most of all Mazda. While I was getting our seats staked out I ran around Sebring and thought I'd share.

I pretty much have Turn One reserved for myself and 100 other people with security and a fence. The day I went they were doing maintenance on the track so I tried to get as many pictures as I could of the setup.

This is what the Turn One area looks like as of Monday, those tires are being bolted together for the tire wall. That bleacher is mine/ours for the Sebring 12 hours. None of the UNWASHED MASSES are allowed to even look at it.

Another view of the viewing area. I can move those seats anywhere we want, but they are right before the apex. I thought we could drag it around during the day so the sun was on our backs, not blinding us. I am standing up with the camera to my face (like I guess most people take pictures?) up next to the tires so you get an idea of how tall they are.

Ok, I thought the tires were cool. So sue me! Behind where I am standing they were filling a couple hundred (I am guessing) barrels of race fuel. I left my long lense in the car so I couldn't get zoomed in everything. Next time I do this I am coming more prepared.

This is the view from the stands we have reserved. I want to bring some PVC and a tarp to make an overhang to get some nice shade going. I was sunburned already by the time I took this picture and I was only there for an hour.

That's a terrible job I did trying to get a full view of the track from our seats. I didn't really plan it out first so that's the best I could do to paste it together. The next time I go I am bringing a tripod and spending way more time with photos and less time not taking photos.

This is the video I took of the view from the seats. I think you get the idea now. All that concrete behind me is mine/ours.

We are going to have power, cable tv feed, water, and toilets just for our special tickets (you'll get a sticker for your lanyard to get you in and out). Grilling and camping is allowed and I am bringing a projector and my PS2 for some midnight GranTurismo projected on the side of a race trailer to show the drivers what's up on the track.

There was a ton of this kind of stuff laying around if I had my car I would have stolen it all.

Chad at Classic Mazda makes this all happen so you can thank him if you are going with me.

We drove around and talked it up with the Mazda race team, and no they won't make me underbody aero for my NA. :(

This is where the tires end up, by the way.

So yeah, the tickets I can get you get you into the team areas and my private seats. I will say the price is $130 with a goal of 100 tickets sold. If we break 100 tickets we can almost double the space reserved for next year if it all works out right. Your tickets get you 3 full days/nights in my fenced in area. I'll post up the information later this week.

Thanks for coming on tour with me.. Way more pictures next time!!

I went to sebring last year with a bunch of friends.. had a pretty good time.

I won't be going this year, but I look forward to going to PLM in atlanta.

especially since you were napping in your car at the time.

the funny part was we were all in a yellow p5 driving in, and I saw a titanium 6 with jersey plates and said to my friends, "hey, I think I know that guy!"

Hmmm... I could spend $130 or I could get in free... I think I have my answer. :D
