Hi Folks

I would to start off by saying thank you all for your info in this forum. This was one of the most informative in regards to any problems associated with the mazda 3 and options available in serveral different contries. By the way the scale looks, I have decided to buy one. Just wonder if you could give your 2 cents on the following.

1. Is 26,500 CDN (19,400US) good for the following (thats with all admin fee's, environment fee's tire..aircare etc, etc and the price before tax. ?(alberta 7%)

2004 Mazda Sport GT w 5spd

Options:

Aluminum Gas Cover
MP3 Upgrade
Moonroof
Leather
Better Floor Mats
5 Windows tinted

2. Does the Canadian version have ABS even though it doesn't have the side airbag?

3. Are the front flares easy to put on? My friend owns a body shop and I'm thinking of where to order them from, is there another place that makes them so I don't have to pay out the hatchback for them from MazdaUSA?

4. Mazda said they won't install the High end Rear View mirrow because it interfears with the window sensors, is this true?

5. Who Makes the best Catback and AirInake Kit, and where can I get a ECU Chip From thats actually real, not those bs ones I see on ebay now.

6. And if you have a Aftermarket Parts Site can you please post it in this thread. I found about a total of 3 online....

Oh yeah....awesome car everyone, very good choice. I'm getting out a 1998 Gti VR6. I'm hoping the mazda 3 doesn't nearly have the problems this car has. I'm sick of 02 Sensor's, Coil Packs, Bad Plugs, Crappy Timing Chains, Crappy Wheel Bearings and everything else that goes wrong with your typical VR6. I'll miss the raw power...but not the bills. The worst thing is, I still love the car. I was impressed that my test drive of the mazda 3 was at par with my 1998 Gti VR6..only thing it needs is some performance parts to bring the engine to par.

thanks

Sounds like a very good deal. The prices in Toronto are higher probably due to insane demand, but it still sounds good.

At my dealer, I think I got a reasonable deal on a 4door, GT (GFX Package) with 5 speed and a lip spoiler for around $27K Canadian with taxes and everything. (Ontario 8%)

I'm sure someone in TO got an "amazing" deal that was lower than this but let's be realistic, it's the best selling car in Canada, they have a million on backorder, and if you don't buy, some other person will. If you can get leather and the MP3 I say go for it.

The only thing I caution is the tinting, my buddy got his mp5 tinted at mazda and it looked like crap. Then again, the dealerships here suck bad, so maybe your experience will be better.

1. It's OK, I guess

2. Yes.

3. Check out the post entitled "Appearance Package" in this forum. The aero flares aren't available as a "package" but are bought seperately. The flares are stuck on with 3M tape and use the same screw holes that are already on the vehicle. If you want the Mazda aero flares you'll have to order them from Mazda.

4. Yes.

5. CAI - AEM (Injen has delayed their CAI)

6. ???

You bought the aluminum fuel filler door? Seriously?

Thats around the same as I paid...

And some info on the Auto Dimming mirror. They will install this, however they will disable your automatic wipers... If you ask them to do this.

I am still deciding if I want to get that done. The wipers are not really that great... tend to smear the windshield when its not raining too hard.
