Have been in the process of completly restoring my much loved 323 1.8i GT its cost me a Fortune and its taken along time. and now just as i finish it the last two jobs..

the abs stoped working. the last two jobs (new rear disks & off side Cv joint), the light now stays on the dash board.

I have checked and rechecked the CV we changed even re fitted the old cv back in , still the light refused to go out, the senors apear to line up ok but as i said i tried again the orginal cv an this still didnt clear it, i also rechecked the rear disks i have had them off twice now they are Definatly calibrated correctly and working properly (inclunding h/b), But Still no joy with the abs light, I really cant see that we could have damaged the system, but am at a loss as to why it wont work :-(

after 2 days i still cant find a fault with anything in the breaking system, iv also tried the test mode for the abs using the link between specified in the haynes manual. (no responce) I also tried disconnecting&reconnecting the battery.

Iv not been able to get the diagnostic code from the port as am un certain how to connect up , i have seen diagrams for the 626 but when i checked the pin names on my 323 did not match if anyone has information on getting the ABS code out of a 323 or "any" usefull info regarding reseting or re calibration routines please help.

Problem solved.

Seems some how we blew a sensor during extraction of the CV, The wireing was fine but the sensor itself tested closed circuit. so if you have this problem you might want to start with testing these.
