I am trying to get the motor pulled and I cannot get either axles out. One I removed at the nuckle and the drivers side wont budge. Anyone have any tips or short "how-to's" on how to to remove them.

I haven't removed the Protege's axles, but I've removed them on a couple other cars. Usually requires wedging a crow bar in between the axle and the transmission, but that tends to push at an angle and make it harder than it needs to be. I've also had success just tapping around the inner axles with a rubber mallet to break the spline free and then pull straight out. In crappier weather areas the splines may have rusted together to the point you need something a little more dedicated like a really big pickle fork, but haven't needed anything like that out in AZ.

the drivers side has a clip inside the trans i nomally use 2 pry bars at the 12 & 6 posistion to get it out as far as the passenger side its bolted to the block with 3 14mm bolts take those bolts out and it will slide out smooth as butter

when i took em out i used a pickle wrench or pickle bar whatever its called and just applied pressure rotating around it

If you are talking about getting them out of the hubs good luck. They get good and seized in. An air hammer is needed if you are lucky it will come out. If you want to remove it from the transmission, use a pickle fork and play with it.
