HELP!!!! E-Brake Issue

Scenario: I just swapped out my rear pads with a set of pads from KVR. The fit right and and didn't have any problems with the install.

One thing of note:
I did have to back the caliper right to its outer limit to allow clearance for the new (thicker) pads.

I have reassembled everything right to spec...even torque specs.

I went for a drive and the I know the pads are working and there are no noises.

When I get to my driveway I engage the e-brake (my is a 5spd auto) and it does NOTHING...LOOSE.

ok...so here is the weird thing:

When I PRESS the Break Pedal ALL THE WAY DOWN.....while doing this I pull the E-brake and it works....perfectly.

if I don't press the break pedal...its loose.

ANYONE provide some insight?

tried just tightening the ebrake? the adjustment is right on the drivers side of the ebrake, pull out the console peice (just yank it up) and you can adjust it.

...not 100% sure on the question, but the KVR pads went right in without any play....put the pads in and re-assembled. Thanks for the replies....keep em coming.

After assembling everything you have to readjust the pads back using the allenhead screw in the back. Turn it in until the pads JUST touch the rotor and then back the screw out 1/3 of a turn (it's in the manual) Be careful though, if you turn it so that they press against the rotor they will drag after you back it off.
