ok so my problem started last week. the battery light came on while I was driving. it stayed on for about 15-20 minutes then went off. I was able to drive it all the way home. I figured the alternator was probably going out. went to get a new one and OMW to the auto parts store same thing happened. battery light came on for about 15 to 20 minutes then went out and I made it to the parts store and back no problem. I put in the new alternator and everything seamed fine. I then drove down to LA (about a 7 hour drive) I was almost there and there was someone driving slower than me. I went to pass them. when I nailed the accelerator to pass my car stuttered for half a second then both headlights went out. tails fog and high beams still worked but the headlights were out. so I checked and the bulbs were completely blown. fuses were good but the bulbs were blown. well driving around during the day car seamed fine. thinking it might have been some fluke I put in new bulbs. Driving home from LA was fine at first. that is until I had to accelerate to get into another lane. BOOM there is the shudder again and I lost my headlights again. finished driving home with just my fogs. Today driving around all day no problems. goosed the engine a couple of times and no problem. then I tried goosing it with the highbeams on and sure enough there was the shudder again. the high beams didn't blow but the car hesitated when it was trying to kickdown into passing gear.

anyone have any ideas?

why would you just say "problems solved" without explaining what the problem was in case other people have the same issue and are looking for help? that's lame.
