headers.

the difference is negligible on this car honestly. AWR makes the 4-2-1 header and last i spoke with him he is not making them anymore.

i am running a GB right now on the 4-1 obx header if you are interested

whats the diffrentce between them and yes im am intrsted in getting a header i herd that the 4-1 is good for top end the the 4-2 is good for acceleration. and whats a gb

how about the tsudo header from ebay?
 
The AWR is pure sex...Have seen many in person, If your wallet allows, get that, if not..go with ken an the OBX.

the tsudo is not a rebadged obx. tsudo approached us to sell this header in the US and we chose not to when our test piece failed to fit the car properly.
 
ouch that sucks but no 1 is anwsering my queston.... what 1 is better 4-1 or4-2 what is the diffrence?

in theory a 4-2-1 header would be better. in reality there is virtually no difference, 1 to 2 hp at best difference between the two. i have driven proteges with both.

bottom line, you really cannot even get a 4-2-1 header for this car anymore so that renders the debate academic. if you could obtain one, it would be more expensive (about twice the cost) and not really get you anything more than a 4-1 design.
 
If you install an OBX header, it requires removing the first cat in the exhaust, correct? If your car has to undergo a tail pipe sniffer emission test every couple years, will it pass?

I've long been considering getting one but this issue has prevented me thus far.

i believe with the advent of the second cat down in the midpipe the car will pass
 
Mine passed with just the second cat no problem in AZ. I am at Ft. Riley, KS now, so Tom03ES I am gonna be taking my OBX header off here soon in the next couple months. If you wanna drive up, I will give you a killer deal on mine.......like lunch or something.
