No, thank god...*knockin on my head* I already had my beloved 93 lx 5.0 vert mustang stolen:'( I can honestly say that if it didnt get stolen I would not have bought my new love = MP3 ) I keep her in my driveway and when I am at work she is always parked right infront within eyes distance.

yup, two months after i got it, while i was visiting family in Cali. all damges and repairs (including new sub, and stereo) came out to 4500 bucks.

i have a feeling that my car was broken into before i got it, simply because i have a low production number, and have the 828 mp3 player, most low productions have the 919. also ive had problems with my sub wiring for a while now, it will randomly shut out, probably kinks and such in it. anothing thing, i don't have the little kenwood triangles above my speakers, that everyone else seems to have.

oh well. maybe mine was one of the ones that got broken into at port. at least i got a better cd player out of it

i had my car broken into in nov 2001. they knocked out the quater glass. had the car two months. they stole my wifes purse out the trunk, it had about 400 in it then they went and got some gas and new shoes on the credit card. the police did nothing. they could get the vidieo from the shoe play but they did not. it was a good thing they didn't search the car i had another 900 in the console. needless too say i don't leave money or purses in the car.

Nothing happened to mine yet. I happen to have the Z828 unit as well, so I try to bring the detachable face with me as much as possible, and not to drive the MP3 to unsafe neighborhood. I also got an after market Compustar pager alarm, which I hope would scare those bastards away. But still, I am quite paranoid about my MP3 being vandalized someday, be it a stolen sub, a missing MP3 badge, or damaged paint.

It just sucks that there are so many weird, disrespectful people out there that will do whatever they pleased to your car just for fun, and there is so little we can do to stop them. :mad:

this might be a dumb question, or statement, but I wasnt ever able to detach the face on the head unit....Hell I didnt even know it came off.

I have been lucky, but I am paranoid. When I am not parked in the garage, my faceplate is removed, and my trunk access and rear seats are locked out. Not much can be done about vandalism though.
Does anybody think the security code for the z828 is a deterrent, or can this be bypassed?

the highest quality installer says that they have nothing to undo locked decks. you'd have to call kenwood directly. i guess you could try to enter every code 0-9999.

I think my car almost got broken into 2 weeks ago. I came out in the morning to a huge crack in the windshield and a very greasy hand print. I'm guessing my alarm scared them off. Hopefully nothing like this will happen.

I'm even more paranoid now.
