omg old thread (while i was trying to find out how many gallons i need to fill my cooling system)
but i've used Evans NPG-R for a few weeks last year until my rad fan broke and put a hole in my radiator that let all of the evans coolant drain on the ground on my way home =\
my temperature gauge was noticeably lower than usual. it does make a big difference. i'm about to order some again
You never need to change it, right? So it'd be potentially cheaper depending on how long you kept the vehicle.
I remember being told you can run a point higher compression on the same octane fuel. This being good for turbo cars also. Allow you to tune more aggressively with pump gas.
they do say that by keeping temperatures lower it helps avoiding pre-ignition and detonnation so i have no problems believing you can advance timing or run higher compression
i'm saying it gets expensive because it's like 32$ a gallon and i would definitely suggest getting more than 2 just in case you need to add a bit more after time. + 27$ for the prep gallon ... alot of people on here dont like to spend too much and wana get the most for as less money as possible, so buying better coolant for 125$ + shipping when the regular coolant "works fine" isnt a priority
Yeah, but regular coolant will eventually need to be replaced again and again and again. So as I was saying.... depending on the period of time you have the car, it could potentially be cheaper.
Prep gallon? I've never heard of that. You can just use Sierra (the Earth-friendly stuff) coolant to clean the system out. That's around $11 or so?
i know the NPG cannot touch water, that is why they sell the prep stuff. if the one you just mentionned has no water in it than yes i think you can use it
Correct, you cannot mix it with water. People have been using Sierra for years, that's all I'd heard of. Like I said, I've never heard of any prep stuff that they offer.
Evans use to be for race-app only, but the developed a formula for street use. So maybe they've come out with that new product too. I haven't done much with it in about two years. We used it all the time at my last job.
