Has Anyone Gone Aftermarket on 1995 1996 1997 or 1998 Protege - Stereo - Speakers -

I have a 1995 Protg DX 4 dr 1.5L.

I will be soon adding aftermarket speakers, an amp, and a new stereo.

My Question is: Which 6.5" speakers are you using successfully in your DOORS?

The ones I am aiming to buy are 2" depth.

I will also be adding a speaker adapter, Metra 82-7500.

SO... 2" top mount depth + maybe .25" adapter plate = 1.75" +/- depth.

Will this be sufficient door speaker clearance?

I have a 3rd gen but Pioneer 6.5s fit perfect in the rear doors. I'm sure the speakers will fit fine.
