Hands-free phone calls - sound is muffled

I have a 2015 CX-5 that recently, when doing hands-free phone calls, the sound is muffled. I can increase the volume but sound quality does not change.

I hear the interlocutor's voice far away.

I checked for updates and did a factory reset. No change.

Have anyone got the same problem or anyone have any ideas?
