GPS Placement

I loathe windshield suction cups and already have to use them for my radar detector.

Has anyone come up with a placement for the GPS that's not suctioned onto the windshield? My civic had a great place near the cluster and was hoping someone was innovative wnough to find a place in our cars.

I thought about that and it slides around too much. It may be good for a permanent install, but I get lost in the woods too often.

I don't mind the suction cup... What I'd like to know is there a way to easily get a cable from the lighter to the A-pillar INSIDE the dash. I can't stand visible cables on the dash.

I suction cupped mine to the windshield to the right of the rear view mirror. This seemed to be the only place within easy reach and did not restrict my vision too much while driving. Someone sitting in the passenger seat may not feel the same way. Looking forward to seeing how others handle this question.

mines inline with the rearview about 7" down. i ran my power cable in the small gap between the A/C controls and up behind the head unit. I ran the cable out of the A/C vent on the left of the center console. This way there is only about 6" or so of visable cable between the dash and navi.... best way i could come up with... not too crazy about it but i HATE visable wires...

mine just popes up out of the dash. i liked my old garmin one that sat on the dash and was proped up to see it ill see if i can find a pic what it looks like.
