Don't know. I was having issues with my TPT's and there was a miscommunication and i got severely frustrated and so it was either a new set of Proxes 4's or wait for 2 TPT's to be brought in from a different location. They did a straigt swap and did the paperwork somehow so i didn't have to pay for anything and got the new tire warranty as well.

They told me the the Proxes 4 are on sale right now, so you might wanna call the local tire shop. Les Schwab is where I went btw.

FYI: They rock. I love mine.
They seem to be much more stable at long sweepers. Not sure about sidewall stiffness yet nor rain. So far under 50 miles on them and they should be what had came on the car to begin with because those Dunlops and TPT's suck major a**.

How are they in the rain?

The first thing I did on my P5 when I got it was swap the tires to a 205-50R16. It was a MAJOR improvement in ride, response and handling. I think some others have done it here also. I never had any rubbing issues at the stock ride height.

How do they do int he rain and what pressures are you running?

I have Toyo Proxes T1-S on the front of my MR2-T and I can't wait for them to wear out so I can get something else. The tires are great for handling and in the rain, but after about 5k miles they started to make a very annoying loud hum at speeds over 20 mph.

I hope the Proxes 4 don't do the same thing.

yeh, i don't recall any wheel spin...but on stockers...well mine are like bald so...you get the point :)

Mine are at 33, and theye do indeed rock in the rain. HUGE improvement over stock.

Update...Finally got to try them on a wet road. Still not sure about standing water and hydroplane.....

In the wet they are very good. The ground still feels like it is dry out and they grip and track very well. NOTHING like the stock tires, and the Toyo TPT's are about worthless. The TPT are only better than stock because of the hydroplane resistance. turn the wheel on the TPT and the tires spin freely much like stock. The Proxes 4 otoh, turn the wheel and the car actually goes that direction.

I wasn't going all out full throttle, but on spirited driving, even on slick new asphalt, the car just grips and goes. Corners are no problems now either. Before the car would feel very slipperery even driving with sense, stepping on the gas now and you are left with loads of confidence. Dry grip is a few notches up and haven't explored the outer regions yet, but wet grip is worlds apart. The Proxes 4 is THE perfect tire, IMO, to replace stock tires with.

The ONLY down side that I am still exploring is possible sidewall flex. I still am under 500 miles, so when i hit a thousand I can get them fully broken in and give another review. Other than that, car feels more stable at corner speed and grip has been severely increased. IMO, the first mod on the P5 should be its tires.

I feel like I can actually drive the car the way it is meant to now. Trust me when I say it, the stock tires are about completely worthless. the Proxes 4 is worth every penny and then some.

Amen. I feel so much safer with these tires...rain AND hard cornering. But yes, I was surprised at how soft the sidewalls were..I'm not too concerned about that though. For daily driving, this tire works great.

I've got TPT's on my stock 16s and Proxes4's on my 17s on my P5 and I think they are both great tires. The TPTs are a good all around tire, lack a little grip compared to the stock dunlops but they handle the wet and nasty weather like a pro (plus they should last atleast 40k miles). The Proxes4's are obviously a better tire but its a high performance tire (lucky to get 25k miles). They do have the all season rating wich is a plus although I wont be driving them in the winter since i've got the tpts. (I want that extra sidewall as the salt and ice tear apart the roads around detroit making huge potholes even larger.) Overall I'm really impressed with Toyo tire quality and they are well priced. I'd recommend the TPT's for the stock 16s if you want a good tire thats going to last a long time. If your looking for a performance tire I'd recommend moving up to a 17" for the wider tread. (but thats just my opinion)

It's only about a 20$ difference per tire. If that. Even at stock size, the P4's take it to another level. BTW, Dunlop is 195 50 16 V rated all season tire. P4 is 195 50 16 all season V rated. Both M+S rated as well. I will take grip and confidence over mileage anyday.

I have proxes 4's on my new rims and iu'm still up in the air about them. I had pirelli P7000's before and that was a very good tire in the rain, and it gripped like no other that i have tried. The proxes 4 seems to slide a little more and has a stiffer sidewall, and its a little noisier. But the wet traction is amazing, i'd buy them just for that alone.

Yes, the 4's are great. Sidewall flex is a problem, and it's abrupt so I run pressures of 40F/38R for daily driving, although I notice the bumps more, but less scrubbing on the sides if you are aggressive in cornering. For autox I run 48F/48R.

Any problems with traction with the 40/38? How is standing water?
