Front Endlink Broke- Driving With One Side Only- How Bad?

So today I was running some errands with my wife and started hearing a rattling sound coming from my left front suspension. When I got home and jacked the car up to take a look, the endlink had sheared right off the shock mount. The upper bolt is still intact, it took the mounting tab with it. First off, how common is this and what could have caused it? It's a [more often than not] conservatively driven car that has spent its life in a warm, salt-free climate. Second, how long can I drive like this? I took the endlink off, so now the front sway is connected on one side only. Obviously I need to fix it, but is it something where I shouldn't be driving the car or can I order the parts and do it when it's convenient? Thanks in advance.

Hahaha This SAME thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago. The car drove fine with the end link disconnected, but of course I didn't push it.

No real issue, just drive conservative. You'll just have more body roll than usual so it'll go from sporty mazda handling to commuter honda handling.

The car will still drive fine. You might get some major oversteer if you push it hard into a corner.

Thanks for the help everyone. That's what I figured. On the bright side, it's an excuse to buy springs/shocks.

as long as you took the endlink off you should be fine. if i were you though, id take the other side off just to ensure that nothing can be messed up. and yeah, take it easy.

Dont take the other off....Then the bar will flop around.
Leave it connected until you replace the Strut/Link.
It will keep the bar in place....It will stil move but will not help with body roll as both sides are not connected.

Leave it on the single one until repaired.

yup, same one broke on me last week. like everyone said, you'll be fine. just take it easy

yeah, do not take both off or it'll fall down and jam up the works, or at best cause a lot of clunking.

Leave one side on an you're fine. I drove with the bar heavily zip tied to the upper member so I could go to the dealer and get a full set of endlinks.
