Free Software for Converting MP3 to CD?

Is there a site to download software to do this (I am using Windows XP BTW)? I would opt to save as a MP3 file on to a CD-R (so that I can put more tracks on it), but can't for some reason. I have a MP3 player and can download and convert to it with no problems, just not to a disk so that I can listen to MP3s on my Pioneer CD/MP3 player.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I already have files of compilations that I want to transfer to a CDR. Thanks again!

Michael

tried nero?

you should be able to burn them as a file using nero, each cd should hold over 100 songs depending on bitrate

use any program, i use nero, and burn it as a data cd. it should play if u have a mp3 player. it works on my stock mp3 player on my mp3 =). but it takes forever to start the next song, almost long enough to piss me off, or as long as it takes for the light to turn green.... o well mayb its just my player. gl

what version of nero do you have? is there a free download? I checked out the site and there is a trial offer from them. I even saw some things at Staples, but the software included pictures and movies, which I don't need. I am not sure what the brand was, but it is around $30.

hey mike, what software are you currently using for burning discs?

I have a Creative MP3 Player and was using the software provided by them (Creative Media Source). I tried using it to transfer MP3 files to the CDR but it says that it needs a directory and not by just entering the drive that the CDR is in. I am fairly new to this. I can rip CDs to the portable MP3 player and download music to my computer and to the portable player, just not able to do so to the CDRs.

Thanks, I wondered that. Other sites:
www.limewire.com You can just download the Basic Edition and get free downloads, but they will sometimes try and get you to get the Pro Edition claiming more downloads that are faster than with the basic edition.
www.mp3advance.com A guy at work told me that you pay $20 one time fee and can have unlimited downloads for however long you want (just a one time membership fee and no monthly or yearly renewels).

Allofmp3.com is way cheaper than itunes/etc, and its legal, for those that care about such things.

I downloaded the new software, decoded the MP3 files and it was going to transfer it to the CDRW drive when it said that I had the wrong media storage device. WTF? I am using CDR discs. Is there a disk used esp. for MP3s? I am missing something here.

What software did you download? I think you have more than one drive, and you selected one that doesn't burn CD's. There should be a pull down menu or something.

There are no special MP3 CDR's

what do you use for normal CD burning? you made a copy of that boston acoustics test CD, so you gotta have something.

I'll check when I get home. Also, I have downloaded ITunes to see if I have better luck. Is downloaded music encrypted? Like I said before, I can download to the portable mp3, just not to a CDR. I didn't have time to mess around yesterday because I have finals this week. After tonight, I can try it some more.

You can do it with almost any music player. With Itunes you go to EDIT/PREFERANCE/ADVANCED (at this point you can pick how you want to down load or burn your music.).

with whatever software you have, just burn a data disc, not a music disc. if you specify a music disc, depending on the software you have, it will default to .wav format, not mp3.

Also with Itunes if I remember right once you load you cd in the drive it will show up on the music player. click on the disk. All you should have to do is click and drag that cd to your music. It should start down loading all.
