That's right, Steve Anderson's 530hp SRT4 died at the track just days ago. 12.9 @ 89mph was his last trap on the motor. He did over 20runs and 100dyno pulls with the stock internals + daily driving. Of course a new built block will be going in ASAP.

i believe it would depend how it was tuned also, if he tuned it aggresively, obviously it won't last as long, but then again he might not have been making 520hp...

That car was sick to begin with ... I can only imagine how long that engine would last with those mods .. but none of the racing/dyno ?

The new motor will be insane im sure.

what was all that black liquid all about?
That's what happens when you get a massive oil leak at 100mph. Same thing (different circumstances of course) happened to me with my old 626.

it still a hard toss up too me srt-4 or msp.....i used to own a neon but i own a protege....so i love them both (uhm)

Just read about Anderson's SRT4 in Modified. Shame that it went boom, but it's a hell of a feat to have gone that long with that much power and not have grenaded the block a long time ago.
