Found some nice wheels (pics)

great article in June 2002 issue of Grassroots Motorsports magazine on page 16 of Rota Wheels. They are a company in the Philippines :D :D :D :D . They also make OEM wheels for many auto companies.

Hey redwagon, I see you have a miata, I used to have a tenth anv. as well. Actually I have had several miatas:D
So I see you live in south florida, whereabouts? Maybe we should go hangout sometime.
PM me if you are interested.

Those would look pretty nice if they had those in darker bronze with a plished lip. I didn't know they were making those in Bronze

My personal favorites are the SSR Competitions. I plan on getting them in a Bronze\Gold color. I think it'll make my car look very JDM. :D

I remember seeing those in Bronze a while back in I believe in Turbo magazine. After 2 days of searching and calling shops, I found that they only made those bronze SSR Comps in a Subaru offset. That was also 2 months or more ago when I called, so hopefully they've offered more since then.

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe that have started manufacturing on the Comps in Bronze for both Honda and Toyota offsets.

Rota makes a clone of the RH CP035, the Rota Subzeros. They dont' come in white like the RH ones do though, not that it's a problem, since I hate white rims :)

And aren't those Racing Pro N1's a clone of the Advan RG rims?? Now, I've never seen the "Battle" design, but I'm will to bet it's also a clone. Not that there's anythign wrong with it, like someone said, Rota makes affordable adn most importantly light rims that also look very good.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but are the Rota Tarmacs clones of the GT-N?? 'Cuz that'd be hype! It'd be awesome if they came in the gold w/polished lip.

A little late to the party

Since this thread keeps gettin posted on I just have to make a comment......and I already know that this subject has seemed to be dropped....and I'm kicking myself right now for posting on an old thread.....but if I keep having to read it than I gotta say something.
Now that the initial vent is over,
I just wanted to let the guy who thought that Spoon rims were a gift from god know one thing, Spoon doesn't even make that rim. And it's not like they design the rim them have another company manufacture that rim to their specs (like what racing hart does with enkie). The SW388 isn't even made in Japan. There's nothing really JDM, J-spec, or whatever the hell you want to call it about the Spoon rims. They're made by a company in RUSSIA called Desmond. Spoon takes the Desmond Regamaster, powdercoats it flat black, then sells it as their own. Now don't get me wrong they're a great rim and in reality anyone could save up and eventually buy a set, but I was just so fumed about the comments you made towards such a great company like rota that I just couldn't hold it in. And Rota isn't the same type of clone or copy like some other cheaper companies, 75% of the time Rota actually buys the mold off the company that manufactures the rim then makes it in their own plant. You're actually getting a fairly high quality rim with a lot of savings since Rota never had to pay for the r&d. One more thing you won't find from many other companies is Rota's unbelievable customer service. I've known two people that have broken their rota manufactured rim (in both cases the driver was extremely at fault). Not only did Rota listen to their situation, they were extremely apologetic and sent BOTH people NEW rims free of charge. In both cases Rota knew that the driver was at fault (one person drove over a tree trunk that had fallen across the road during a storm, the other person ran almost completely perpendicular up a curb at 45mph) That is a company that I just can't stand to hear badmouthed.
alright my pulse has slowed I'm taking deep breaths and I'm pretty sure I should go to bed now. I just wanted to let you know what kind of company you were calling a cheap knockoff.

The Rota Battle are a copy of a wheel made by Advan Model 5's. They look pretty close.

The Pro Racing N1's are kinda close to the Advan RG

The Rota Tarmac are knock offs of the Prodrive P1's which are a Subaru specific wheel

Though I can relate to what Moran is saying. You have to remember that knock off's ore still just that....."Knock Offs". And since they are knock offs, I will never place them in the same category as the Spoon, Advan, Racing Hart, Volk or Rays. Rota's are great for people who just want the look and don't believe in spending the cash for the real deal wheels. I on the other hand am the type of guy who will spend the money for the rare wheels becuase I know the average guy will not. All I can say is each to his own. For those who may not know, the spoon wheels are quite a bit lighter than the Rota's. The 15" in SW388's weigh in at about 9.5-10lbs. So you get what you pay for and in the case of the Spoons, you'd be getting a high quality, super light weight, imported, rare wheel. Just my .02 cents
