On Wednesday, Ford will address the question many Mustang faithful have been asking: Why cant I buy a Shelby GT-H? The answer? Patience, pony car fans patience.
Later today, Blue Oval bigwig Mark Fields will announce the arrival of the Ford Shelby GT for the 2007 model year. With continued strong Mustang sales, high initial demand for the Shelby GT500, and calls for private party sales of the GT-H Hertz rental car, the advent of the Shelby GT seems like a natural development.
Key differences between the rent-a-racer and the general-consumption Shelby GT include the availability of a manual transmission (all GT-H models are automatic cogswappers) and color choice black or white with silver stripes.

Man, Ford as a winner with that style. But I wonder where they go from here? I don't think they can do better. This just might be the last body style they make.

The Mustang will be updated in 08 with all new sheet metal according to Motor Trend.

dilute the Shelby name some more. Carrol Shelby is gonna die a rich rich man thanks to ford and buying his brand name and in the long run lose the exclusivity and resale on all his products.

I don't think so. Even though they make more of them now there are also more people. Not only that but not many people will buy them.

well, add me to the list....the list of people not buying one. I can't get passed those ugly headlights, and ugly rear end when looking at it from a side profile, AND my old 1990 Prelude had more room in it.

Nope, not for me sir. Keep em.

Fast? I'm sure it's Unbelievable!! Looks? Ugghhh!!
I have never personally been a big domestic fan but can certainly appreciate a nice Mustang. Just not until they get back to the 21st century. I just think their design team could have smothed out the edges a little better trying to do this whole old school classic muscle car rebirth thing. Shelby has come a little bit closer but I just couldn't drive that thing. Just not my taste.

I'm not feeling it, but that is just my $0.02 CAN ($0.018 USD).

And I think it will move away from the retro design. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

doubt it, this is whats selling. they are not gonna change. Mustang GT is the only car in ford lineup that doesn't have a rebate to sell.

Yes, that is correct. Ford is saying that the 2008 Mustang will not be so retro. I'm anxious to see it.

Any "sports" car with a live rear axle gets a thumbs down from me or any other sports car enthusiast

See that's were you younger guys are alittle confused. The mustang is NOT a sports car. It's a muscle car. Two totally differant beast.

Exactly what I was going to say. Although I'm not a big Mustang fan, and I prefer sports cars to muscle cars, generally, I can appreciate the Mustang for what it is.
