For all the naysayers: S2000, 13.84@100.33

I didn't feel like looking up the old thread where so many idiots were trying to say the stock S2000 is slow and can be beaten by the MSP in the 1/4 mile.

Here is a video of a stock S2000 running a 13.84, then backing it up with a 13.88.

I can't remember who it was that was making such a big deal about. (probably because dumb people aren't important enough to remember)

Enjoy. (laugh) (nana)

that guy must have been a great driver(and probably needed a new clutch after the runs), the better thing to look at is the trap speed, hes trapping 100 which is right where a s2000 should be at. At least 99+for a trap stock.

Yeah. I think it's because of the NA power curve. A modded MSP is capable of around 103 trap speeds but at only low 14's, but I think it's because of the exponential power curve that a turbo gives. There just isn't enough power down low.

well the msp is also FWD which is somewhat harder to launch, im not sure what 60's the s2000's pull maybe you can tell me, in my car i can get high 2.2's - low 2.3 60's which isn't bad but it also isn't good.(i have a boosted p5 btw not a msp)

A good friend owns me pretty much daily in his S2000 and he only has an intake. When we run it sounds like a Turkey and a German Shepard fighting (VTEC sounds like a dog bark)

lol, sow when you getting turbo ben?
When you hit the lottery and donate the funds to me. It's like $5000 for the turbo kit, plus $1000 for the AEM EMS, then if you want to run anything higher than 8 to 9psi, another $5000 plus your stock engine for core charge for a Mike Simon built race motor that can handle over 20psi and make over 500rwhp. (laugh)

I'd rather have the Vortec supercharger. I'll be happy with 300rwhp that will keep up with corvettes. (boom04)

S2000 is gay! (evil)

Thats pretty good run for a stock s2k. I got the turbo s2k to run a 13.02
Launch problems.....I am not much into drag racing. I am certain I could get into the 12's

The turbo MP3 could not get those times but had a much more driveable and funt power curve.

But the s2k is a sexy car.
Just very limited to mods unless you turbo or supercharge.

Comparing an S2000 or even an NSX to another car on a dragstrip is pointless.. The cars were designed to perform on a road course, not in a straight line.

BTW 13.8 still isn't fast ;)

Just to show you what a Mike Simon built motor is capable of. THis guy is only like 23 years old. He's a turbo genius. He hand made his whole turbo kit, and tuned the thing himself. He currently holds the record for highest horsepower from an S2000.

He is thinking of changine to a taller rear end gear. With the new gear, hw will be able to reach 197mph at 9000rpm. But his car can rev to 10000 since he has a lightweight titanium valvetrain. So he can most likely go over 200mph if he changes the gears. (boom04)

Yeah Simon is the man..........too bad the s has no torque :(

Hey Terry, have you been to the S2KI site lately? Have you seen my new discovery about the rear end gears? Well, to make a long story short, people have been paying near $1000 for them, then they dropped to $600. Now I have found out that they are a Mazda design and they can be had for $300 and lower.

We are working out a deal with a guy in Austrailia to get the 4.625's for about $299. He's giving me the first set at cost since I discovered this.(nana)

By the way, your S2000 is UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whats su suprising about that? my friend has a 2002 s2k with an aem intake and runs 13.2's
thats a bit hard to believe considering a intake does not really add power to the S2K
