11 Mazda2 Sport in Crystal White Pearl. Ready to be transformed!
Sorry I've been so absent in this neighborhood lately, but work has been keeping me super busy. Luckily, my work is lots of fun some days and lets me get out to do cool things at places like VIR. I want to bring you guys more updates, so if you get a minute to check out my car at the GRM site, please make sure to vote it up so I can get some project support. (Here's the URL for the unofficial car home- http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/2011-107-mazda2/)

I published a web update on my car that shows the new wheels and tires, and also includes onboard video from the autocross at Daytona International Speedway and the HPDE stuff from Virginia International Raceway.

Just as I was lamenting the less-than-ideal gearing of the Mazda2 for Autocross work, I found myself on track at VIR. The car seems much, much happier on a real road course; 2nd gear worked great for the slower parts of the track and I had surprisingly little trouble keeping up with (and even passing) some much more capable machines.

The car looks good on track (And I love the D-Force wheels, especially at that price!)

This G8 GXP got away from me, but we were chasing back-and-forth through the twisty parts. I think I had as much advantage in the turns as he had on the straights, but 400 horsepower is a lot to try and overcome. I also got the impression he hadn't spent much time on track yet, so maybe he was being extra careful.

I saw this update on your site the other day, I'll be sure to vote it up. Interesting findings of the 2's track manners. I might have to sign up for a HPDE soon.

I should have linked the on-track video too. (Sorry the sound is horrible...)

Im sure the G8 was wondering what was up with the little white car all over him in the corners.
