I don't seem able to find the Falken rt-615 in a 235/40/18 for less than about $170 each, can anyone help?

...and discount tire has 100$ off if you buy online. I bought a set of falkens a few months ago from them. and am going to buy a set of the azenis as well for track tires...

I'm going with the 225/40/18 since they are much, much cheaper...

Though I am worried about the profile being too thin for racing...ideally, you want some sidewall or else the tires chatter while cornering...

Yeah 225/40s are quite a bit cheaper...but the tires I'm looking at (Falken 452) are a few dollars cheaper at 235/40, wtf? lol

So, I'm probably looking at either SPTs are 225/40 for 101 each or the 452s in 235/40 for 131 each.

hey c7, those are nice prices for some good tires . don't forget to tell us your opinion on the tire's performance with the butt G-meter. how far away are you from ordering? I am searching for wheels and tires now and i'm running late.

I got my 452s at vulcantire.com they also had road hazzard warranty as well. the 615s are $130 before shipping. Shipping for me was about 15 per tire. or $145 shipped in this scenerio.

www.discounttiredirect.com free shipping! Their prices are usually cheaper at their 'direct' website than in the discount tire stores...so I'll probably have them price match. At all discount tires, the price is always negotiable so you can always talk them down some. My buddy works there and he said some people have gotten tires and stuff really cheap. Plus having a friend who works there makes it easy to get good prices and a lot of fees and stuff waived.

ummm well i took my car in to get an alignment today and they pretty much told me im going to kill myself cuz my rear tires have no tread left (lol like 3/32). Fronts have a little more...I'm probably going to be getting them within the next month or so I'm thinking.

Just finished working out some numbers and I'm looking at getting SPTs in 225/40 for $490 after installation/tax etc. or $614 for 235/40 Falken 452s.. hmmmmmmmmmmm my wheels are 7.5 wide so 225/40 is probably more ideal but I think 235/40 will fit no problems.

Jeez aaron I have less tire than that. and need you to guinea pig those 235s for us[me] so how about hurrying up with this. Oh I mean im seriously concerned for your safety so please don't delay on the tire purchase ha peace

Yeah the guy at the tire store pretty much said I was going to kill myself, lol. That was at firestone though...not gonna buy tires from there, I was just getting an alignment done. He gave me a quote for 2 new OEM tires...440 dollars or something. They're nice tires but I'm not paying ~900 for a new set that only lasts 14k lol.

I don't know if it matters about rated mileage to me. I am going to finish off all four in twenty thou any ways, so I'll take the softer compound and higher temp ratings yes I priced oems also 440 was probably a good price from what I've seen. I did not care for the bridge stones very much although they are rated well. Search for a set I am sure you find what you want at a reasonable price Good luck
