Engine Knock

I have a 2006 Mazda speed 6 with 16,000 miles on it. Bought it new in December 2005. After driving the car until the engine is warm, and then stop at a store, when I came back out and start the engine, there is a slight knock
(like a rod knock) for a few seconds and then the noise goes away. I have taken it to the dealer several times and they can't duplicate the noise.
Anyone else out there having the same experience?

I think I experiened this the other night ,,,, I have 26,000 on mine.. 06 MS6. So what effects does this have on the motor ? , is it a defective part, that will cause damage or is it just what it does ? sorta like the way the clutch is ?

I heard like a tapping/knocking noise at low RPMs in the first couple gears when its warmed up.

Its gotten louder since i first noticed it but hasnt gotten any louder.
can that be it?

I know this is an old thread, but you hear knocking on a 6s I would strongly suggest checking your oil level. If the oil level is lower than expected, have your PCV system inspected/serviced immediately!

I have this same issue with my MS3 there is a TSB for it?

My speed Protege used to make almost exactly the same sound on startup every day...

Turbo Cars run looser tolerances....

2006 Mazda 3 knocking! Need Help!!!

My 3 has 167 thousand kms on it and it has always had a faint ticking sound but recently over the past month it has started knocking in addition to the ticking but only at certain rpms during acceleration and deceleration and it is getting progressively worse. It is quite loud now and I'm worried. I took it to a local mechanic and he thinks one of the lifters is stuck. I read about seafoam treatment but does anyone think this would work in this case because this noise is not a ticking, its a knocking and its quite loud? Thanks in advance for any advice.

You're in the Mazda6/Mazdaspeed6 section, FYI. To answer your question, seafoam would be a very cheap solution in comparison to breaking the head down. I would give it a try sooner rather than later.
