My Car: Mazda Protege MP3 2001 Yellow 2.0
Okay i'm going to try and make this as short as possible.
My Check engine has been on for the last couple months...
I've had my O2 Censors replaced, front Cat Converter replaced because it was bad, Crank Censor Replaced, Timing Belt Done, Front and Side Motor Mount replaced and a few minor other things.
Car ran fine for 2 weeks. Until every time i started my car or came to a stop A COMPLETE stop, the engine would act like it wants to Conc out and the rpms would go up to 1.5 and down up n down unless i pressed the gas and it'd stop fluctuating. Bothered me so much
Certain days when i start my car depending on the weather Hot, Cold, Warm, or if it rained it'd sound different each time. I knew if it was Cool or Warm next to hot my car would run Crazy good and I'd have a good day.
My problem with the car now is when I'm driving to pick up speed there is like a kickback effect... ill have to rev up to 3 to 4 RPMS in first gear to get any sort of speed... I can go to Second Gear on 2 to 2 1/2 RPMS but it'll take a while to pick up and about 3-5 seconds later i can feel the Gas kick in and my car just shoots forward and will kick back into gear. Its a intermittent problem. Also if I'm coming to a red light and i'm in 3rd girl ill throw it in neutral but by time i get to the light it will turn green so ill shift to second and gas it...except my car feels like its in 4th or 5th Gear... I have no goddamn pickup what so ever. I noticed also if i go over a Bump depending how hard I hit it it effects the way my gas flows through my car... i feel like I'm wasting a lot of gas as I'm refilling a little sooner than i should be and it's just depressing I'm having this issue with my car and the gas prices aren't helping considering its $4.30 a Gallon for premium
NOTE***: My mechanic said my O2 Censors might need a new replacement because they're aftermarket with a OEM Cat and that i might need OEM O2's Any thought or input about that!!! Please help guys.
Right now my car is reading out a Random Miss Fire and Cat inefficiency Code. My mechanic which is a damn good one that takes care of me on parts and labor charges wonderfully is still stumped on what the issue is. He's told me he's done numerous amounts of testing, including a "Smoke Test". He's mentioned something about the EGR Valve but nothing further. All of the work i had done needed to be done and i wasn't being stiffed, as he verifies each damaged item to me and sometimes ill sit n watch him on days he fixes it for a couple of hours.
PLEASE HELP ME I ALSO NEED TO PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE OF GODDAMN EMISSIONS. I'm like reaching the moot point of just selling the car to someone that wants to invest more money into fixing it and just buy a new one even though it'd cost more, i'd have no problems as i travel alot between two jobs and not have to worry about my car being in the shop because of this and that.
