just picked up some gauges from prosport... i use to own a sti and the best place for the egt bung was in the header closest to the 3rd cylinder because this was the hottest cylinder.. where is the best place on the MS3?? also i picked up prosports oil adapter for oil temp and pressure gauges, does anyone know if it will fit on the MS3.. the page says the M20 fits most mazdas...

While I can't be sure as to the best place for the EGT, most of the oil adapters go where the oil pressure sending unit resides.

Your probably the first to do this on a MS3, sucks for you. I'm just guessing but for your egt, I'd install that sensor just abit above the flange on your exhaust mani where your downpipe meet your manifold. What cylinder is hottest? Who knows but putting it right where they all meet is a safe bet, you'll get a good reading.

The oil pressure adapter...wow, it's gonna take a little trial and error. You need to atleast locate the stock oil pressure sensor and then see what would work or if the T adapter you got will fit. It's a question of just getting the right thread which I'm sure you know. Either way, I cant see you doing either of these things without a lift and an experienced mechanic....I know I wouldn't mess around to much on a brand new car. Good luck!

Our car takes oil cartridges,Not a screw-on oil filter.I dont think that sending unit will work.
There is a way to convert to a normal oil filter type but its not a good idea because it will remove your oil cooler thing.

The MS3 shares the same setup as the 2.3L Mazda3, cartridge configuration. If you go w/ the sandwich plate/adaptor.....You'll need to get the 2.3L -> 2.0L spin-on filter conversion kit and also a 3/4"-16 sandwich plate. It's a 3/4"-16 and not a M20. You will need to transfer the stock oil pressure sensor from the stock cartridge assembly to the conversion assembly, but that is an easy bolt off sensor & bolt on sensor task.

Also note that the spin-on & adapter plate is about 3/4" longer than the cartridge setup will push the filter down almost level to the plastic splashguard, but still above the bottom of the oil pan.
